Background
Ventraq is a leading provider of event data transformation and business insight solutions for service providers and enterprise environments, creating software for telecommunication providers. With the growth of mobile, particularly the introduction of SMS and then data services, Ventraq began to see a change in the way its customers’ networks were being used.

Challenge
Ventraq required a solution that could scale to meet the demands of high volumes of data processing over a low latency network. The network would need to be better engineered to cope with the peaks in demand and sudden requests for resources, which were often difficult to predict and design for. Further, Ventraq needed to fulfill the strict requirements for security and availability of its Tier I and Tier II mobile broadband customers.

Approach
By using the AlwaysOn/InstantOn platform, Carpathia Hosting was able to develop a solution that met these key requirements in a matter of days. Ventraq was able to blend dedicated infrastructure with cloud services, allowing web traffic to be distributed across dedicated and cloud servers. This hybrid model provides the security, availability and reliability of a traditionally hosted environment paired with instant access to cloud computing and storage.

Solution
Ventraq is now able to keep a minimum level of dedicated hardware while still having a scalable cloud solution to meet customer need in a cost-effective manner. Shortly after provisioning, Ventraq announced availability of its CloudBank data management solution. Leveraging the security and highly available processing power of cloud-based computing, solution providers can now easily scale up the collection and processing of real-time event data flow during peak traffic periods without the typical investment of often idle server "farms."
